ZAPGlass Studio
ZapGlass studio is owned by Jieun & Jon Zapiecki. They currently live in Norwalk, CT. Jieun is a visual artist originally from Seoul, Korea. She explores her artistic journey with a sense of time and place, along with nature. Jon is a glass artist who has been working and developing his own artistic language in glass for over 20 years.
Their collaborative glass practice is rooted in close observation of the natural world. Both draw from patterns found in landscape, light, water, and organic forms, working between figurative and abstract approaches. In their blown work, layered colored glass powders are used to build imagery and surface variation, while hand-cut elements introduce illustrative detail. Kiln-formed, flameworked, and cold-worked techniques are incorporated as needed to support form and function. Every work they create is one of a kind, developed through an intentional and collaborative process. They aim to craft objects that reflect patience, presence, and material transformation.
